For markets, museums and guilds
Your artist list, in context
We would like to talk with you about what your artists do the rest of the year.
Artists indexed
Showing at two markets or more
Years with structured records
Full artist records currently cover 2024–2026. Earlier years exist in the archive as written history — not yet as structured, cross-referenced data.
Three questions worth asking
Which of your artists also show elsewhere — and where? More than six hundred of the artists indexed here show at two markets or more.
Who has shown at other markets but never applied to yours? Imagine a list of actively exhibiting artists who’ve simply never found their way to your application — or who found out about it after the deadline passed. A valuable applicant pool that’s currently invisible to you.
Which of last year’s exhibitors didn’t come back — and did they stop showing altogether, or are they showing somewhere else now? A single institution’s artist list can’t answer that either.
None of these questions are answerable from one market’s data. They become answerable the moment the artist lists and award histories sit together, which is the only thing we’re proposing.
What a partnership could look like

Assembled from artist lists, award lists and archives each organization published.
Common questions
“What if our Native-led event doesn’t have a jurying system?” We accept artist lists from all Native-led events. They will just sit in a different area of the website than the juried markets.
“What if I’m a gallery, museum or institutional collector?” We want to hear from you. Please reach out to us via email. We would love to learn more about the artist support you’ve provided within the Native art industry. If you are a good fit for this project, we can discuss custom integrations so your efforts are represented in our system.
An inquiry, not a pitch. We want to help you learn more about your artists, put your data to work, and make it easier for collectors to find their favorite artists. Reach out today to inquire about partnership opportunities.
institutions@nativeart.directoryArtists with a question about their own record should write to artists@nativeart.directory, or see For Artists.
